Taster Session (3 hours)

Experience Rock Climbing at Harrison’s Rocks (Near Tunbridge Wells) in a relaxed but safe environment. We will warm up with some scrambling. This involves crawling through caves and learning to move on small rocks without ropes. We will then advance on to some roped rock climbs. As far as route choice, equipment and knots are concerned, your instructor will do most of the thinking for you so that you can relax and enjoy your climbing. You will enjoy this session and if you would like to learn more about equipment and rope work as well as advancing your climbing skills, then please join us in anIntroductory One or Two Day Course, or most comprehensively, a Six Week Course.

These run on a weekend from 9.30 am - 12.30pm and the next set of course dates are:-

Six Week Course

This course is based at Harrison’s Rocks (near Tunbridge Wells) but also includes other venues locally. Come along each week and experience scrambling, rock climbing and abseiling . As well as learning to climb effectively, we will talk about appropriate footwear and equipment. You will learn how to tie knots for climbing and how to safely set up ropes. We will also discuss environmental issues of Southern Sandstone and good climbing practice. On successful completion of this course you will be awarded a certificate of proficiency to show that you can confidently set your own equipment well enough to climb on Southern Sandstone without an instructor.

No experience required for this course, but it is also a fantastic start outside for those who've done a bit of climbing indoors.

One Day Course

This One Day Course will introduce to Rock Climbing and inspire you to continue the sport. The day will introduce you to moving on rock and climbing with ropes. An action packed day; you will have an enjoyable experience with a professional and experienced instructor.

You can 'add-on' to this course by joining us on Day Two of a Two Day Introductory Course, should you wish to further your climbing skills and learn more about rope techniques for independent climbing.

No experience required for this course, but it is also a fantastic start outside for those who've done a bit of climbing indoors.

Two Day Course

Personal Training

Private tuition can be arranged on a date and time to suit you, whether it be a one-to-one session where you want to learn from scratch or brush up your skills; or your own private group with some friends.  These courses will be tailored to your requirements and each individual taking part.

Family Days Out

Bring the family along for a day or a half day's climbing. You will you have a memorable experience you will never forget ! If you would like your children to take up the sport further, then you can learn how to teach them.

Adventure Weekends

Climb - Abseil - Navigation - Bushcraft

This is something else !

                   

If you are looking for an action packed weekend of exCompass reading: circular central compass dial with red magnetic needlecitement and fun, for yourself, or for all your family, then look no further. 

Day One will be a close to the ground, survival skills experience, learning about navigation, compass bearings and how to not get lost !  We then move into the amazing world of bushcraft where you will be shown six different ways to make fire - including with sticks (yes you really can do this !); you can try all of these and also learn how to eat nettles and thistles and look for ant larvae as well as how best to cook them ! Once you've gathered food from the woods you will build a shelter from natural resources and sleep in it.  Day Two is an action packed rock climbing and abseil session, sending you home enriched, enthralled and suitably ready for a radox bath.  This is a truely incredible experience, not to be missed.

If you'd prefer to come to just one of these days (i.e. navigation and bushcraft 'Survival Day' or climb and abseil 'Action Day') this can be arranged.

This is ideal for adults, however over 14's are welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Away Trips

If you live in the South East, have been on an Introductory Course (and/or have previous climbing experience) and would like a weekend introduction to rock climbing in the Peak District, Dartmoor, or Portland, then this is the course for you.
